Trek Show least 20th/21st century

Which show do you think had main characters acting the least like 20th/21st century characters, like characters from our days?

There's a lot of disagreement going on in those results. I'm shocked we don't have a more lively debate going on.

TNG

So far the poll reflects why I favour TNG over the other shows. I watch Trek not to see "the usual bunch of idiots".

Clever Sci-Fi does not only create an out-of-this-world environment, but also out-of-this-world characters. TNG accomplished this. I don't see that the other shows did.

TNG. I think this one is pretty obvious, actually. I'm not saying the other shows featured recognisably contemporary characters, but for better or worse none were as idealised as TNG.

'what's the best show' is not the question you asked. Otherwise I can guarantee there would have been more debate.

there was acting in voyager?

*joke*

As much as I liked TNG, sometimes I watch it and wish that someone would tell Picard to put a sock in it.

Where are the three dissenters posting their reasons? I personally thought DS9 and ENT characters were most like us. :p

I would argue its hard to make out of this world characters that are believeable. TNG's were certainly foreign, but the believeability wasn't always there. It was there more so than many other sci-fi characters that are foreign, but they all too often just felt flat rather than more enlightened.
