Trek movies on HD cable/sat

Anyone else seen any trek movies in HD on cable or satellite?

I just recorded Final Frontier and Voyage home on Cinemax HD.

Best I've seen them since they were in theatres for sure.

They were both in original aspect ratio too.

So what have you seen?

I'm curious if TMP has ever been aired.

That is very cool.

Did they appear to be 'cleaned-up' new prints or just some old dirty, scratchy print they grabbed to show in the HD format.

I saw Trek 3 about 3 years ago in HD on a local channel and the print was the same nasty one they used for the current DVD with the defect on the Klingon bridge during Kruge's parlay with Kirk before David's murder. :(

I'd be thrilled to hear of a cleaned-up version.

Actually they are both pretty darn clean.

For example in TVH I was shocked how clean the shot was of sulu lowering the whale tank wall into the bird of prey with scotty poking out of thin air. on my dvd that is filthy with dust and dirt, but on the HD airing its very clean there.

Both films have not looked that good to my eyes since I saw them in the theatre.

I recorded TVH in HD a couple of days ago, haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I saw Nemesis in HD a few years ago.

I am anxious to see what they do with TMP-DE. Hopefully they will spend the money to upconvert the cgi resolution. If not I will be more than happy with the theatrical version.

The Extended Version would also be nice. It wouldn't even have to be HD, a DVD quality widescreen broadcast would be sufficient for me.

But I'm happy to have at least the Theatrical Version, because I can't stand the DE.
