Trek IT! documentary

Hi everybody,
I’m aware this is a little self promoting, however I’d like to submit to your attention the documentary “Trek IT!”, which I co-wrote and co-directed.

Following similar works like "Trekkies" and "Trekkies 2", and also Shatner's "Get a Life!", “Trek IT!” tells the story of the Italian trekker community, never particularly large but extremely active since the beginning.
The documentary has been distributed in the US by Bayview Entertainment and it’s now available on DVD and also on-line on Vimeo and on Flixfling (it should be soon on other platforms).

"Trek IT!" lasts 76 minutes and it's in Italian with English subtitles (I know this can be annoying but there was no other way).

I think it looks really cool and I hope you have a better place to promote your work. I love these ‘small stories’ and I guess most of us know next to nothing about Italian fandom.

Thanks Richard. Actually I've contacted both TrekCore and TrekMovie offering them a screener to write a review, but they weren't interested. Also I haven't had any answer from Larry Nemecek for his podcast (and I know him personally). John Tenuto, who is also regularly interviewed in Star Trek documentaries and used to be a contributor of StarTrek.com, saw the documentary and he has been enthusiastic about it, but this doesn't count as he's also a friend on mine.
Well, at least I've tried.

This is really fascinating! I remember how excited the Italian fandom seemed when Sir Patrick and some other PIC cast members were at an Italian convention in Lucca to promote season 1. I really enjoyed seeing the videos of his addition to the Lucca Walk of Fame and all - will this be covered as well in your documentary?

That was epic! Wasn't it?

I was there! I know he could be anyone, but tht's me! ;)
And two years earlier, in 2017, we had the cast of Star Trek Discovery in Lucca!

No unfortunately "Trek IT!" doesn't cover it, since it was 2019 and the documentary was already closed by then.
However it's full of other fun facts, like when a Star Trek producer came to the Italian convention on his own without telling anybody, just because he happened to be on holiday in Italy!

It looked epic, that's for sure! I love how he stood on that balcony like a pop star waving at everyone below, lol. He really seemed to enjoy the visit from what I saw in the videos and on all the pics. Of all the places he visited on that PIC promo tour the visit to Italy was my favorite because he was really treated like royalty there (which is of course absolutely appropriate, lmao). And yup somehow I had a feeling you were there, too! I'm so glad it was a great convention for you!

Too bad it's not in the documentary, but hey, can't have everything! I'm sure the documentary is awesome without it, too! :)
