Trek-History Edited Video: Any comments/criticism appreciated

Hi there,

I'm not sure if this classifies a traditional form of "art," but here goes. I recently made a video spliced together when trapped in my apartment during the cold, cold freezing winter in the American Midwest. The attached video is here:

A few things about myself: I only started using Adobe Premiere about a 1.5 yrs ago; I am studying in a health profession (going into pediatrics soon) so this is a very casual hobby for me. I like visualizing concepts, and being very OCPD with video timing and soundtracks, but I haven't really tried 3D modeling (probably won't have time to learn with my lifestyle) and I definitely suck at drawing. But I do like all things Trek, so there you go.

I want to give special credit to HIKE Animation (Youtube link here: http://www.youtube.com/user/mylex67 ) for a CGI rendering of a specific scene. I could've used the original scene from the movie, but it looks a lot better with his video. I sent him/her a msg to ask for his approval, but I haven't received a response from him/her yet. Hopefully by adding him credit, it will be enough. Again, not doing this for profit, and I think by adding his credit in I wouldn't be detracting his potential profit either...

I would appreciate any thoughts/criticisms/ideas I could toy with.

Thanks! :)

Very nice work, but could I suggest you get it moved to the Fan Film forum? It actually is a finished short, which makes that a more appropriate place, plus there are a lot of very good filmmakers to confer with there.

Okay, so that was suitably epic. I love the presidential quotes as well as the music. What was the soundtrack from?

Hi again,

Thanks for the comments. The music is actually all from the 5th season of Doctor Who - Murray Gold is the composer. He's quite up there along with David Arnold. :)

P.S. I am having trouble getting this thread moved. Who should I be contacting for that?

Nab the attention of a moderator. I'm sure Ptrope will be allong shortly to beam this thread over to Fan Productions.
