Not certain this is the right place to put this question, but here goes:
Was anyone here at the Hofstra University Star Trek convention about 9 years ago? Patrick Stewart was the main guest speaker and Grace Lee Whitney was there as well.
My husband and my two kids (ages 6 and 15 at the time) and I all went in great anticipation of hearing Stewart speak. It ended up being terribly disappointing because Stewart did NOT want to talk Trek, but only talk about his other roles and the upcoming first X-men movie.
As we remember it, PS was very rude to the audience, in particular, to one young man who came dressed as a Borg.
I am wondering if anyone here attended that convention, and if so, do you remember it the way we do? It made us very sad because we all had great respect for PS and we had even gone to the city to see him perform A Christmas Carol in his one man show.
I'm not dissing Mr Stewart here. I still think he was and still is an amazing actor who played one of my all time favorite Star Trek characters. I'd just like to get someone else's perspective on that day.
