I'll confess, I'm not a fan of either of the franchises, but I just find this new so crazy I had to share it. IDW has announced that they will be doing a Transformers/My Little Pony crossover comic miniseries. I know they've been doing a ton of crossovers lately, but combining these two franchises never would have occurred to me. The miniseries will begin in May, and will have 4 issues, it is being written by James Asmus, Ian Flynn, and Sam Maggs, with art by Casey W. Coller, Jack Lawrence, Sara Pitre-Durocher, Tony Fleecs, and Priscilla Tramontano.
Up next: The Care Bears cross over with The Legion of Doom: Spoiler: A surprise reveal in episode 001: Don't ask what Lex Luthor does with fabric shears in order to make a new outfit for Giganta, who's always wanted among other things a new fur coat... he already demolished the Smurf village to get her the equivalent of a happy meal... Spoiler: Also, Sorry, I couldn't think of anything more FTWarped... apart from using the Wonder Twins but everyone already uses them...
Yes, actually. I mean, why are these crossovers created? They simply don't make sense to me. I can get a few of the weirds cross overs I heard of. Sure. But.... Really? Those you listed are just to far out there for me
Because they sell. No, crossovers generally don't make sense to me either. Incompatible worlds, driving a tank through the suspension of disbelief - I absolutely loathe them. There's so few that actually work... But I don't have t o buy them.
Good point. Oh well, if others like them, good for them. I love stuff other people dislike, so I shouldn't make a fuss about it.
And people question why I don't consider comics a continuation of shows. There was a TNG and X-Men crossover?
I think there were actually 3, a prose novel and a graphic novel TNG crossover, and a TOS crossover. I haven't read most of the ones I listed, but to me the fact that they don't make sense is a big part of why I'm interested. I'm curious to see how they bring them together, and how the characters deal with each other. For me the weirder the combination, the more it piques my curiosity.
That's a valid point really. And I overreacted a bit, no doubt. Basically, if there are people who love it, why not?
The Transformers previously did a crossover with Star Trek, so this coming May, Star Trek will be officially connected to My Little Pony.
