One of the movies I'm really interested in this winter. Based on the story of the politics of the 1995 South African rugby team (an all-white group that was an underdog, and, because of its associations with Apartheid, wasn't exactly big with black South Africans), which Nelson Mandela wants to turn into a big unifying national event.
Morgan Freeman's been wanting to play Nelson Mandela for years, but an adaptation of The Long Walk to Freedom has been spinning its wheels for years. So instead he gathered a bunch of allies to buy and produce a book on this subject that came out last year, and recruited his buddy Clint Eastwood to direct (something of a departure for Eastwood).
