Just seen new trek movie toys, good and bad..

The figures in plastic look good to ok,not as bad as press or net photos, certainly no knitted sweaters here, but not as good as prototypes shown last year.
OK there are new vehicles and gear not listed but as memory serves me here goes
1.Romulan drilling platform playset with sulu in skydive outfit and 1 romulan guard outfit.
2.Enterprise transforming playset, that transformers into drilling platform playset-strange idea-this is not the enterprise playset, something else.
3.Kirk on motorbike-from the trailer,1 bike 1 kirk fig
4.Federation shuttle with the red shirt who gets it on the drill platform.
5.Some kind of jelly fish ell vehicle that is pearl like in appearance-was at the end of trailer not the narada
6.role play Robot cop helmet

12 inch figs look great, enterprise playset not big,you have to buy other figs and they come with pieces of the bridge, packaging was a mock up but almost there,
Was black with tiny starfleet emblems on the surface in light grey, with a window box for the figure.
Everything else u know and have seen, tricorder was cool with great sounds

Also the narada toy doesnt look like the narada from the concept painting but more like a golden squid, guess for safety and production costs

yes and no,got a feeling it was more relaxed this year with photography than last, but ny toy fair is around the corner, and 4 what its worth though, don't get your hopes up for the Terminator Salvation toys, the movie looks great but the toys look like they are for six year olds!

Hey bush01, did you happen to see the Playmates Movie Enterprise 1701 toy on display? If you did, what are your thoughts on it's appearance? The latest released image looks pretty decent to me, but I've not seen "the real McCoy". ;)

It was good, not as well polished as press photos but good enough to have,I guess there will be loads of movie enterprises from different companies,
The chrome nacelle tips have some kind of design you cannot see from trailer or toy pics so far,was miffed by the transforming enterprise romulan drill plat form playset.
The packaging for the action figures mature in design for collectors, black in colour in clamshell packaging, think the 12 inch dolls are great, especialy the older spock, although what I saw last year must of been scans of the actors and tooled into plastic because look good enough but do not have the Gentle giant feel.

2.Enterprise transforming playset, that transformers into drilling platform playset-strange idea-this is not the enterprise playset, something else.

Eh. Sounds like the Batmobile Tumbler that turned into Gotham City from last year, or the R2-D2 that turned into the federation droid ship interior. I never was that crazy about "Micromachine" type playsets for larger figures.

4.Federation shuttle with the red shirt who gets it on the drill platform.

Cool. I was hoping for a shuttlecraft.

This is the kind of thing that reminds me that Star Trek just doesn't lend itself to kids' toys very well.

I can see a kid loving the movie, but not wanting to buy any of this stuff. It just doesn't sound fun.

I can see a kid wanting a phaser or the Enterprise, but the rest of this stuff sounds destined for the clearance aisle.

Theory; there's no Kelvin because they want to keep it's role in history, at this point in time, to a minimum. Once the movie premieres and everyone sees it for the martyr it is then demand for toys and/or collector pieces of it will skyrocket.

Think it is spock's ship, hope hot toys get a licence to do trek, they are the best at everything when it comes to figures.
We collectors got off lightly, have you seen playmates terminator toys?
Guess they are aimed at a younger market, strange considering terminator will have more violence and higher rating to get in to see it.

Secound on the Hot toys.I have there ROBOCOP with flight pack, there T-800 Endoskelton AND there PREDATOR 2 City Hunter figuers and they ROCK:techman: But what I would really like to see Hot Toys make would be the starships themselves. Can you just imagine the detail they could do? And on the TERMINATOR figs from playmates, I heard they went after the proprty because the studio was aiming for a PG-13 and so they jumped on it. Please Correct me if I am wrong

no you are right about the rating, but my heart sank when I saw them, the ten inch range is embarrasing, they look like bubble bath sculpts, bland and really badly painted.
There was one good one,the hunter killer tank with a t800 but that's it!
