Touch of Cloth

Anyone seen this?

I can't decide if it's brilliant or the dumbest piece of shit I've ever seen. Uber-pun intensive, almost in a Police Academy way, kind of drowns out whatever message there was imo ("cop shows suck" mainly I suppose).

Kind of entertaining, but not really that funny. On the other hand maybe that was intentional also, poking fun at comedy by pretending to be funny while being a kind of shit comedy?

Maybe too many layers there for my simple mind to understand or I'm overthinking it.

I recorded the first part and watched it last night and am doing the same with the second part tonight.

It's a bit too over the top in my opinion but I got that just from the trailer. Having seen the first episode just confirms it.

I haven't seen part 2 yet but I did enjoy part 1. I think they were going for an Airplane/ Naked Gun vibe of throwing as many jokes as possible at the viewer, so that if one joke bombs, don't worry, there'll be another along in a minute.

A lot of the visual jokes were the best - especially the ones about the photos of Piers Morgan.

I really enjoyed seeing this. It definitely had an Airplane vibe to it, as the silliness just kept coming thick and fast.

I just started watching the first episode and getting a very Airplane! vibe from it. I'm loving how silly it is.

I don't have Sky, but I've seen the trailers on other channels, and this looks great fun. I assume it'll end up repeated on a regular Freeview channel eventually.

"You're coming apart at the seams, Cloth!" :guffaw:

I confused myself by catching a repeat on Sky 2 that had both parts together, so I thought there would be more next week! I did read that they were making two more two-parters though.

Sky's comedy output seems to have dramtically improved over the last 12 months.

They already picked up a second series but I don't know how many are in this series.

I really enjoyed the first 2 parter and it looks like they're continuing the same style with the second one.

"I'll bleed when I'm dead."
"Blood doesn't work like that."

Did anyone here see the talk with the writers?

Just as a BTW...

I might have to catch up on this.

I think there's a bit of James Nesbitt in Murphy's Law there too.

God, I want this show to be rerun on a Freeview service soon... it's right up my sense of humour.

"Don't forget which side you're on."
"I'm on the edge. And edges don't have sides."

:guffaw:

It won't be, it's a Sky Original series. They don't tend to show anything like that on PickTV. Though the first 2 parter is available on DVD

Oh well, might get the inevitable box set if it hits a sale and goes under a fiver.

That sucks that PickTV likely won't show it. I thought that was where all Sky shows would eventually go to die, and live happily ever after in eternal rerun heaven. :D

Thanks for the info.
