I hate that stereotype! You know, here in England, accents are widely split into "working class" and "posh", which isn't really accurate, because usually it's more of a regional thing, but I can tell you most people here do not fit into the "posh" category at all. In fact, the term can be quite pejorative. Besides, we swear much more than Americans, at least the ones I've met over there.

You want utterly British and utterly un-cultured? Come visit Corby sometime.
