TOS Pike Film...(perhaps)

Chris PikE

Commander
Red Shirt
A quick video as a sample of things to come...SPFX clip of the Enterprise is my 1:350 SECOND pilot build. It was filmed in front of a blue screen in the spirit of the original Effects seen in the series. The Stars and Planet bleed throughs are intentional as well as the line seen around the Enterprise...they are clearly evident in footage from the original series. The transporter effect was rendered by Erich Linder and again, done in such a way to reflect the original.

A teensy suggestion...watch your audio meters. The transporter room test was incredibly louder than the Captain's log. The average volume ought to float around +12db. Lots of fanfilms suffer from uneven audio levels and it can be painful to suddenly have the volume spike, especially wearing headphones.

Poor sound quality can really hurt an otherwise worthy effort. Appropriate equipment is usually available for rent, but as with anything else, the knowledge and skill of the people operating the equipment is what really matters. Sound is an art in itself and it should be accounted for during pre-production.
