I'm trying to remember if during TOS run were the nomenclatures Heavycruiser & Battlecruiser spoken on screen to describe Federation & Klingon vessels?
I'm thinking they were but I'm just not sure!

In Elaan of Troyius, the first time the Klingon ship appeared onscreen (as a Klingon ship) Captain Kirk simply described it as a "Klingon warship".

I do not believe the terms "heavy cruiser" or "battle cruiser" were ever actually spoken onscreen.

Incidentally, in "The Search for Spock" one of the Klingon who observes the approach of the Enterprise says to another "Federation battlecruiser".

Most of the time in TOS, the Klingon Battle Cruiser are called "Klingon Warships" but in "The Trouble with Tribbles":

UHURA: Sensors are picking up a Klingon battle cruiser rapidly closing on the station.

My mistake. I remember then that Kirk calls red alert, and then rushes to the bridge but the Klingon ship is just hovering near the station and Koloth in the the station commanders office.
