TOS episodes with original effects not available for HD streaming

Does anyone know why the original versions of TOS episodes are not available to stream or download in HD?

The remastered versions are available in SD and HD but the original versions are only available in SD. If the original versions are available on Blu-ray, why can't they be available on digital HD?

Because the HD would look exactly like the SD?

Blu-ray doesn't mean HD. It's just a larger memory format.

According to all the TOS Blu-ray reviews I've read, both versions of TOS on Blu-ray are true HD (not upconverted SD as you seem to be implying).

Both versions are HD on the Blu-ray sets.
