Tornado Damage Photos

I'm going to be taking some pictures of the area personally tomorrow, but a mile and a half wide tornado came through my town of Ringgold, GA tonight. It's just south of Chattanooga, TN. I can literally walk across the state line in 5 minutes if I wanted to. These are some pictures uploaded to the local news site:

There has been a 3 story Super 8 Motel that has collapsed, with many feared dead.

Just got word that a brand new annex where I went to high school has been demolished. The press box at the football field is in the parking lot, and an entire wing of the middle school has been completely obliterated.

Like Oklahoma City back in '99. Sad. I have a horrible feeling the light of day is going to reveal nothing good and a whole lot more that's bad. If motels have collapsed like the OP said.....not good.

Just got good news that they actually managed to evacuate the motel before it collapsed. I just got as close to the scene as I could and almost every single store's sign has been ripped away from the building if it has managed to stay standing. Every fast food joint (literally) was destroyed and then some.

Only 14 confirmed fatalities so far. Five tractor trailers were picked up and slung all the way across I-75. Interstate traffic has been at a standstill for hours.

Wow, that's pretty crazy stuff. We actually had a tornado watch here from which nothing materialized, so it rather puts things in perspective. Stay safe.

We had absolutely no warning other than the usual "possible tornado" stuff. It just jumped over and obliterated an entire mile.

This is the high school I graduated from. The goal posts are bent, the pressbox in um... everywhere, and the field house is totally destroyed.
