... at least it could have happened according to this latest book, "The Writer's Tale":

Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus from Abba were lined up for a musical version of Doctor Who spin-off show Torchwood, according to a new book.

In it, head writer Russell T Davies reveals that he was asked about the concept and told: "They have the two chaps from Abba on board."

Davies said after he had finished laughing he asked for clarification.

He was told: "Yep. Bjorn and Benny love Torchwood." But the idea never progressed beyond the early stages.

Shall I put up the "BARROWMAN! [shakes fist]" picture, or shall I leave it to someone else?

Still, it could have been a valid excuse to hear JB sing as Captain Jack. If, that is, we could hear his voice above the background music.

Actually, given Barrowman's musical background it actually might have worked, though in the grand scheme of things it's probably best left in the same dustbin as Rose Tyler: Earth Defence.

im not completely sure RTDs is being 100% truthful about this

never been keen on Barrowman as a singer, not sure why I just dont think he is that good.
