The first Torchwood radio play - Asylum will be broadcast in 3 parts over 3 afternoons on Radio 4 starting on Wednesday 1st July between 2.15pm to 3pm.

3 parts? I had thought it was just 3 1 off plays

I get the impression it's 3 plays, each broadcast in three parts. I could be wrong though....

It is 3 separate plays broadcast over 3 consecutive days. From the synopses they look quite interesting.

Bound to be I'd have thought. Seems to be a strange time to put them out though. I mean how many people are out at work at that time of day.

I dont disagree, I guess the iPlayer is really where these plays will get their audience

The BBC offered the first one as an actual download, not just on iPlayer.

That's the slot for the Afternoon Play (clue in the title). Torchwood isn't big enough for Radio 4 to redesign its entire schedule to suit it. Also, radio actually gets better ratings during the day - in the evening, people are watching EastEnders and Holby City and so on...

Good point! And it's not like it's difficult to catch up these days. Really looking forward to these now.
