Tor.com - The Twelve Doctors of Christmas

And it's up!

A bit belated, but I was on the road repeatedly near the past few days. And I need to catch up on everyone else's entries!

Wonderful entry, Steve! You covered why I've grown to love The Eighth Doctor so much thanks to the audio plays. It's quite thrilling that I'm not even halfway through catching up on all of his stories. I only just finished listening to Scherzo (which was utterly brilliant) and Phobos (so far the highlight of the first season with Lucie Miller) and I look forward to many more adventures with him in the lead.

A side note on McGann's other work: I've only seen him in an episode of Agatha Christie's Poirot (playing a good friend of Poirot's) and last year's Luther. I'm curious to what you're referring to in regards to whether or not he's a serial killer.

Thanks! I've been reliving the eighth Doctor audios with my wife; we started 2.5 years ago (when she was still my fiancée) with Shada and we've just made it up to Something Inside. It's real fun to listen to them again, especially with someone who doesn't know what's going to happen next.

It was a standalone drama called Forgotten that aired as part of Mystery! a few years ago: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/mystery/programs/forgotten/

I may be out to lunch, but could it be Alien 3? I know Paul McGann plays one of the convicts at the prison colony, and I think he's a serial killer, but I don't remember if they actuallyu state as much in the movie or if they were just vague about it.

Steve already answered the question: a standalone drama called Forgotten.

I loved the Ninth Doctor entry particularly because Graham Sleight talked about the level of courage that Eccleston and company had in bringing back Doctor Who and "how funny, how emotional, how science-fictional it should be."

Not for the first time, I feel the foolishness of not reading the entire thread before posting. Some day I'll learn...

The Eleventh Doctor is so cool that he got no just one entry, not two, but three entries and all of them nail him perfectly. Thomas' entry even won a spot in my signature (sorry, Starkers, her quote beats your Porsche analogy). After reading all three entries, I'm thinking The Eleventh Doctor might have risen all the way to the third spot on my list (after The Fourth and Second Doctors). That's pretty damn good for only 14 episodes.

I found this persons comment interesting
Why is there this need to have geniuses look weird? What is important is that their genius separates them out, not their clothes. The Doctor is unique and weird and brilliant because of who he is - without a need for silly hats, bow ties and trousers that are too short.
Does this person think the previous Doctors wore "normal" clothes? Its kind of a trademark. Each Doctor has a costume.
