What are your top ten episodes of Babylon 5?

1. The Long, Twilight Struggle: perfection. the Londo / G'Kar scene is my all time favorite scene.
2. Severed Dreams: a perfect little action movie.
3. Into the Fire: the climax of the entire series. it's huge. And Lorien is my favorite character.
4. Falling Towards Apotheosis: they fight a Vorlon. Hell yeah.
5. Shadow Dancing: the first actual full on confrontation with the Shadows; and also Franklin's life changer
6. Z'ha'dum: I'd rank this higher if I hadn't been spoiled on the entire series; the revelations were not a shock for me.
7. The Face of the Enemy: another episode where every scene is just amazing. the music video. the Bester monologue.
8. The Long Night: the culmination of the Cartagia storyline is great and it's perfect set-up for the series' climax.
9. Endgame: another amazing little action movie.
10. The Coming of Shadows: so many great story and character movements. the first amazing episode.

Runners Up:
Messages From Earth: good action, good character, the first step over the brink.
Interludes and Examinations: KOSH!!!
Whatever Happened to Mr. Garibaldi?: I love Lorien and his scenes with Sheridan were amazing.
No Surrender, No Retreat: great action movie; great Londo / G'Kar reconciliation scene.
Movements of Fire and Shadow: wonderful cliffhanger
The Fall of Centauri Prime: disappointing let down but still major moments
Sleeping in Light: definitely a legitimate tear-jerker.

3. The Fall of Centauri Prime - epic and tragic, full circle

5. Chrysalis - "Nothing's the same anymore"
6. Babylon Squared - blew my mind
7. Severed Dreams - great action
8. Z'Ha'Dum
9. Sleeping in Light
10. And the Sky is full of Stars - my first B5 episode (which hooked me), a sentimental favorite

Aargh, this is a pretty impossible task! There are far too many great episodes to pick from and it feels wrong to leave so many classics off my list. However, I'll try - don't set too much store by the exact rankings.

1. The Long, Twilight Struggle - glad to see so many people like this. When I first saw it I was staggered and on subsequent viewings it really holds up as a brilliant piece of television.

5. Into the Fire
6. The Fall of Centauri Prime
7. Messages from Earth
8. Confessions and Lamentations
9. In the Shadow of Z'Ha'Dum
10. Between the Darkness and the Light

Not in order as such, but these are the ones that make my list:

Chrysalis
The Coming of Shadows.
The Long, Twilight Struggle.
Messages From Earth.
War Without End, parts one and two.
Into the Fire.
In the Kingdom of the Blind.
The Fall of Centauri Prime.
Sleeping In Light.

The best scene in the entire show, though, is in "No Surrender, No Retreat", when Londo visits G'Kar's quarters.

Don't have time to write up a complete list, but "And the Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place" is definitely in there because it showed that when Londo and G'Kar work together the excrement really hits the rotating cooling device.

Yeah, that's my plan. Continue with my Trek re-watch (I'm most of the way through season 3 of TNG) and then hit Bab5 again.....I've been intentionally not rewatching Bab5 for a long time on purpose, try and get as fresh a take on the series as I can. I know I waited like 10 years to rewatch TNG and I'm enjoying the series immensely this way.....I expect given how much I love Bab5 it'll be even better for me with that show.

All these Babylon 5 threads are giving me the urge for a rewatch. It's been about a year and a half.

I had that marathon in large part because several friends had been bugging me about when the next one would be. And while you can't watch the entire series together..... it is so fun to see at least some of them with good friends to talk about what you like or dislike.

Listing episodes in this way comes with a caveat, similarly to what others have said. It's hard because there are so many good episodes, ones that we truly enjoy.:

10.) Interludes and Examinations - the sheer pain you feel when Kosh is torn to shreds by the Shadows, while he is in contact with Sheridan in the guise of his father.... wow

09.) Chrysalis[/U] - the season 1 ender which kicks out all the supports and lets all hell loose in the magnificent explosion that is the series.

08.) The Fall of Night - when it all changes, from the best hope for peace to the best hope for victory

07.) War Without End, part II - how many of you saw that one coming?

06.) Movements of Fire and Shadow - now this would have made an excellent season cliffhanger. Delenn is lost in hyperspace.... the Narn/Drazi force begins the assault on Centauri Prime.... and there's still more

05.) Sleeping in Light - what words are there to say?

04.) The Long, Twilight Struggle - Londo being twisted here and there, and still feeling helpless against the tide. The epic destruction of the Narn homeworld, reflected in .... well, a reflection in one of the best CGI shots ever

03.) The Coming of Shadows - again, what do you say?

01a.) Z'ha'dum - this one constantly wrestles with the one ahead for the #1 spot. It's one "flaw" is a tiny bit too much exposition.

01.) Severed Dreams - perfection in televised science fiction. Plus perhaps the most remembered line in all of B5...
