Top Shot

[USS Avenger]

Anyone watch Top Shot last night on the History channel? Its a shooting competition meets Survivor, its even hosted by former survivor Colby. Each week they are going to emphasize a different style of shooting. Last night was "long range" shots. I was very surprised to see the guy who couldn't hit the 8 inch target at 100 yards. No surprise that he was the one that went home.

Oh crap, I totally missed it! I wanted to watch it, but I forgot to set a DVR. I'll have to try to catch a rerun this week, looked like it could be entertaining.

It was worth watching, but I wish they had concentrated more on the shooting and less on the "drama". Next week looks good, they will be shooting M9 pistols.

Man that young kid can shoot long range. Thought it was good but agree with above about less drama and more shooting. Still the show would only be about 4 eps long if they only did the shooting part. Thought the obstacle course part was pretty dumb as well.

Yeah the kid can shoot. I think the show would be better in a half hour format, eliminating the drama BS. I think they did the obstacles to try to increase the heart rate and breathing, making the shots harder. That said, 30 shots at a 100 yard target with no hits, not impressive!

Yeah, the drama was a turn off. Its the reason I dislike most reality shows.

I thought this topic was about another attempt at plugging the oil spill. Or a show about it.

Sounds like a good show, thanks for posting about it. Since I watch almost everything online now it's sometimes hard to keep up on what's new unless someone posts about it here.

There was a reality series several years back that pitted special forces personnel against SWAT officers in a series of challenges (including target shooting, rescue missions, clearing buildings, and so forth) that was pretty good. I think it only lasted one season or two though.

Not really sure I liked this last episode. I didn't like that the opposing team got to choose who sat out the challenge. That might work on Survivor (where they don't do it), but not this show. I want to see the best shooters shoot, not sitting on the sideline. Didn't like all the bitching about Glock vs Berretta, its the weapon chosen for everyone to shoot, deal with it!

Other than that this was ok though, still too much drama, not enough shooting, but I guess thats what the people want. That elimination challenge looked like fun! Next week, longbows.

I prefer the show about the pawn shop. Maybe if they gave Chumlee a rifle...

Missed the pistol one, but saw the sniper one and wow that kid was great. They definitely focus a lot on drama, that whole thing with him shooting the smiley face was made out to be way more important that it was.
