Top 10 most popular US shows during the Covid lockdown

I'm surprirsed that the Mandalorian got so many Emmy nods to be honest, there have been some fantastic sci-fi shows over the years that never got a single nod. But I think they've always been less snobby and more populist than the Oscars in comparison, I loved 24, it used to do really well at the Emmys, but it was just an exciting television action show. Meanwhile Battlestar and The Wire, for example, I don't think ever even got nominated.

I guess my point is, Emmys arent really an indicator of quality.

That's for sure when Bob Odenkirk and Rea Seehorn don't even get best acting nominations for Better Call Saul.

Yup. I've been saying this for years. Since the early-'00s, which happened to be a time when I thought Star Trek turned to shit. So Star Trek doesn't have anything to do with my thinking this.

I'm holding out hope that maybe Bob Odenkirk and Rea Seehorn will be nominated next year since Better Call Saul will be in its final season, but I'm not holding my breath. It isn't Breaking Bad, so they won't do it.

Hahahaha, are you jokin about Rhea Seehorn not getting a nod? I don't follow awards shows, but I assumed she was a shoe in for the win, she is by far and away the best thing about that show, which is the best on television I reckon.

The actors who play Mike, Gus, and especially Lalo are pretty good too. Lalo is my new favorite TV villain.

Me too. I think people are desperately wanting to find good in the SW universe after decades of mediocrity, even in Hollywood, where SW inspired a lot of current filmmakers. Mandalorian is sort of ho-hum compared to most TV sci-fi these days, but its significantly better than 90% of what we've seen in SW since 1998.

I think George Lucas' PT was tone deaf and a bit creatively stagnant, the Disney SW films were more competent but still very hit and miss (Rise Of Skywalker felt like a notable swing and miss, but I've grown to like RO and The Last Jedi).
