Tommy Kraft announces Horizon sequel!!

Seems odd how quickly the new project came together. Tuesday, they were making a sequel. Thursday, it was cancelled. Saturday, we get a Kickstarter for a brand new project.

They actually announced the new kickstarter on Thursday, the same day when Federation Rising was cancelled. However, it looks like 'Project Discovery' had been in the works for some time. The story has been co-developed by Tommy Kraft and Ryan Webber in addition to Federation Rising. I hope they use some of the same actors.

Wasn't there a mention from him (directly or indirectly) of a thought for an original film round the time Horizon was released?

If I am remembering those Internet whispers correctly then it sounds like due to the success of Horizon he moved that one back in favour of a sequel so now he has just shuffled it back to being his next project?

It's called "creativity". Being able to pivot and file serial numbers that quickly is admirable.

That costs the same amount as the prior project? Seems like it would be more expensive starting from scratch.

Without the Star Trek name to give it juice, I'll be very surprised if they get to $250,000. That said, I've happily pledged because the concept is interesting, I enjoyed Horizon, and Tommy's a cool guy.

I made a direct donation via pay pal, I figured I watched Horizon twice and if I ever ran into him I'd buy him a drink so why not
