I'm not disappointed that he was only a 'one off' on TNG, as I think his episode kind of did everything it needed to do: the point of that episode wasn't about Tom, it was about Will and Deanna.

I am, however, disappointed that after bringing Tom back on DS9 and even setting him up with a 'sequel hook' at the end of the episode, that the writers on that show didn't do anything with him again after that. Tom Riker probably would've been a better fit as a semi-regular on DS9's more 'cynical' version of the Trek universe, anyway....

How cool it would've been if Q sent the wrong Riker to Voyager ep. Death Wish, and he stayed on board.

I voted "I'm Not Sure". I liked the two episodes he appeared in so I'm not in the 2 is too much camp. Given the fact he wasn't used much I wouldn't call him an asset to the show either. I don't feel like we saw enough of him to really understand the character very well.

he would have made a better station commander than avery "crazy pants" brooks
