According to Variety, director Michael Mann (Heat, Collateral) is going to adapt the classic video game Pac-Man for the big screen, reimagined as a crime thriller. The storyline will be about undercover narcotics cop Connor "Pac-Man" Duncan (Michael Chiklis), who gets addicted to the very drugs he's trying to get off the streets. However, in an ironic twist of fate, some of these designer pills he pops actually make him a better cop.
Tom Cruise will play the ruthless drug lord known only as Blinky, who Pac-Man is trying to infiltrate and bring down. Kiefer Sutherland (Inky), Clive Owen (Pinky) and Forest Whitaker (Clyde) are going to play his lieutenants.
Eva Mendes is in negotiations to play a woman Pac-Man falls in love with while undercover.
