I would like to share with you guys a show that I enjoy, "and the Winner is..." with Matt Lucas on Radio 2.

ENTERTAINMENT: And the Winner Is...
On: BBC Radio Two
Date: Thursday 1st April 2010 (starting in 7 days)
Time: 22:00 to 22:30 (30 minutes long)

Matt Lucas hosts the new awards do - The Lucases - with gongs for Most Redundant Technology and Greatest Historical Fatty. With guests Tom Baker, Alex Macqueen and Bob Mortimer.

obviously im not sharing it just for kicks, but I share this one, becasue Tom Baker is in it, hopefully there will be some Who related humour in the show.

Sadly this is the last in the current series :(

Sounds like April will be a good month for Tom Baker fans. One of the BBC Radios (7, I think) is also supposed to be broadcasting three Target novelisation audio books recorded by Baker. Plus they just announced the UK Sci-Fi Channel is going to be bookending the new season Easter weekend with a marathon of classic Who, including a number of Baker stories.

On the subject of HIGNFY, I recently discovered the Angus Deayton scandal episode - I'd never even known about the scandal before, let alone the hilarious ribbing the regulars gave him that week.

Trust me, if you haven't seen it, you simply have to check it out. It's on youtube and is one of the funniest things I've seen..

I think it was cruel to him. He was the best one on it. Merton's a berk and Hislop's a twit. The show lost all class when Angus went.

I like Deayton as much as the next bloke. I actually saw him live onstage once back when he was the straight man for Rowan Atkinson.

But come on, he totally left himself open for that one. Getting caught snorting cocaine in a hotel room with a prostitute while his long time gf was pregnant with his son, and he had been misleading friends, family and fellow HIGNFY cast & crew for weeks/months on the whole thing! Can't say I have a huge amount of sympathy for him really..

And yeah Hislop is a twit.

I doubt Merton and Hislop are that clean if you delve deep enough. They strike me as a right pair of scuzzbags.

Radio 7 will be running Barry Letts' autobiography, Who and Me, at the weekend in the Seventh Dimension slot. On weekdays, they're running Tom Baker's reading of The Brain of Morbius, and they'll probably follow it up with more.
BTW: the Seventh Dimension slot is now hosted by Nick 'Daleks/Cybermen' Briggs.

Which somehow forgives Deayton? And actually I doubt you'll find much sleeze on either of them. Seriously do you know how much money Piers Morgan apparently spent trying to get the Daily Mirror to dig up something on Hislop? If a tabloid newspaper can't find something out when it specifically targets someone then it says one of two things. Either Hislop is exceptionally clever, or there's nothing to find.

Personally I'd say both were true.

Hislop's a pompous little twit who makes money out of libelling people. Merton hasn't been funny for a decade, and mostly just recycles his same old jokes, catchphrases, and expressions. I'd take Deayton over either of them any day.

I've no axe to grind (though Hislop does strike me as a little shit) but apparently Deayton wasn't a team player and not very nice to the other two, which was why he got no support from them when the shit hit the fan (or the hooker hit the tabloids if you prefer). Merton has since admitted that the animosity that he frequently displayed to Angus was real, not just an act.

The offical explanation for his sacking was that when he became the story, then his position on the show was untenable. But I'd imagine that had the other two backed him up and threatened to quit if he was sacked, he'd still be hosting the show.

HIGNFY is still good but I don't think any of the guest hosts have ever been quite as good as Deayton.

It wasn't until a second round of scandal allegations appeared in the tabloids a few months later that the BBC finally sacked him from the show.

sorry im new o here came across this iste messing aroung finding stuff dont know where i should introuduce my self so if its wrong let me know thanks

"Cocaine" is a west coast rapper, right?
