Todd and the Book of Evil

Not sure how many Canadian TrekBBS'ers managed to catch the first two episodes of "Todd and the Book of Evil" tonight but after watching Inner Space's Behind the Scenes special on the series, I decided to check out and thought it was really cool. It's Canadian produced and filmed, has a thirteen episode order and has Jason Mewes in a supporting role. Alex House (Dark Oracle, Degrassi) Maggie Castle (Starhunter, Vampire High, The Time Traveler's Wife).

The first two episodes aired tonight and were pretty cool. Campy horror fun but mixed with smart writing and comedic acting. Think I'll be watching this all through the thirteen episodes.

LOL...Mewes has actually been across a couple of times, the time he and Kevin filmed "Jay and Silent Bob Go Canadian Eh?" on Degrassi and I believe most of Kevin's "An Evening With Kevin Smith".

I thought it was pretty funny myself. Alex House has been doing okay since "Dark Oracle" 6 years back.

The way its going, it seem like his amputee best pal is going to be the real hero of the show though.

Nice show. I like that it pushes the boundries more than other shows of this type. The story isn't so straightforward that you feel as if you've seen this a million times before, the characters are light and fun, yet have some interesting personal demons, and the humor includes a good touch of vulgarity. I'm going to keep watching.

I haven't seen it, but the commercials are giving it a Bill & Ted vibe to me.

And yeah, Kevin Smith likes Canada. He's a serious fan of Degrassi.
