TNG's season 3-7 uniforms for women

I've watched TNG for decades, but I just noticed near the end of TNG season 6 of my current franchise watch/rewatch that when the uniforms changed in season 3, the female officers still have one-piece suits even though male officers got two-piece uniforms. Was there any reason for this beyond sexism (having tight one-piece suits to accentuate bodies of female peformers)? They moved away from this with the DS9-Voyager and, later, FC uniforms.

Even quite a few of the FC-style uniforms were one-piece too. But some people did get two-piece versions. (Like Sisko.)

Oh no it was definitely sexism lol the boys got to have their two-piece uniforms after all, just the girls didn’t. That changed later, but the girls didn’t get to have their two-piece uniforms…ever? (Pulaski doesn’t count as she was old.) And I mean are we really going to say that Seven’s or T’Pol’s uniforms were standard for the men of their eras as well? Come the DSC era and later they just cast slimmer actors, male and female, and put them all in tight outfits. …until DSC went into the 32nd Century and everyone wore asexual gray potato sacks with high collars.
