TNG kept Patrick Stewart from taking on the role of ...

Patrick Stewart does not have the voice range to do that role. Listen to the actor that did it for the movie. His voice is very dynamic. Patrick Stewart always in whatever he does, sounds like Patrick Stewart. No don't get me wrong I like Patrick Stewart but, no it would not have been good for him to do it.

wws

The only voice acting I've heard him do that comes to mind is when he's been Picard, Locutus, or the lead Stonecutter (where he was meant to sound like him), so I don't think I've heard his full talent as a voice actor. To my knowledge though he'd sound pretty Picard-like. Probably not the best for Jafar.

btw, I can't say that name anymore in relation to Disney withotu wanting to add 'Kree!' after it. :)

He was good as Lord Yupa in Nausicaa. But yes, it was obvious the whole time it was Captain Picard.

^Also the antagonist (his name escapes) in TMNT. Sounded exactly like Picard there as well.

Methinks there is a pattern.

He does the voice of Avery Bullock, Deputy Director of the CIA in American Dad and he sounds like Patrick Stewart in that role too. Of course the character also looks just like Patrick Stewart too so I don't think it's an accident. :D

As good as he is Patrick Stewart is stiff and like wood. ben Kingsley is fluid and moveable in his performances. after Picard and the Professor from X MEn theer is not much for him to do.
The next Great role for Patrick Stewart to play would be "M" in the next James Bond film. Judi Dench should retire.

He played Adventure in 'The Pagemaster!' Okay, his accent wasn't all that. A piratey-sounding Patrick Stewart if memory recalls. But still, a little different than his other voice work.

And who could forget his turn as a conspirator in "Conspiracy"? I think I saw that movie many years ago...but I can't say I remember it. I imagine he sounded a lot like Patrick Stewart.

I believe you are referring to Conspiracy Theory which starred Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts. I remember seeing him in that role and thinking that his American accent was very bad. Don't get me wrong, I love Patrick Stewart as an actor, I just think he should stick to his native accent.

^
Patrick Stewart with an American accent?

I tried to find a youtube clip, but no such luck. Anyone have a sample? :)

Actually I picture Patrick Stewart as the perfect man to play Kohler in 'Angels and Demons'. the character is an intelligent bald man in a wheel chair. It'd be a homage to his part in X-Men and the fact that Ian McKellin played a role in the Da Vinco Code provides an interesting paralel
