TNG Interactive Tech Manual/Windows XP

Lieutenant Commander
Hey all, I was rummaging through some old boxes of stuff, and found my CD-ROM of the TNG Interactive Technical Manual, and I was wondering if anyone has had any issues running the software on a Windows XP machine? I'd just like to know if there are issues with it and XP before I go through installing it.

Interestingly enough, I installed this on my own PC last night after rummaging around in our garage! Anyhoo, I have Windows 7 and haven't had any difficulties at all. I installed it on my netbook (which runs XP SP3) without any trouble whatsoever. Are you having trouble running it?

Oh, and the only downside I've found is that the resolution isn't adjustable, which means it's 640x480 images sit right in the middle of my 19", 1600x900 monitor.

For what its worth- I tried running it on a virtual version of Windows XP and kept getting a general protection fault.

Hmmm... okay, well I have a netbook also with XP with SP3, but my main PC runs Windows 7, so I will try it on both machines, and see what happens... I haven't installed it yet, so IDK if it'll run smoothly, or if I'll get that protection error.

Yeah, I read about the resolution thing... actually, now that I think about it, isn't there some issue that requires a certain version of QT, or will the current version work just as well? I have the latest version of QT Pro installed on my PC.

When it tried to install QT on my Win7 system, it skipped installation and told me a newer version was on my PC, so it looks like for you it will do the same thing.
