One of the criticisms of TMP is that it lacks some of the camaraderie of TOS. The Deepfake technology is sophisticated enough to insert someone completely different onto an actors head so giving the same actor some extra lines should be comparatively simple.

Obviously, Spock's aloofness is part of the plot but I was wondering, are there any lines from TOS, subsequent movies, or even appearances in other shows and movies (TJ Hooker, Mission Impossible, Tales of the Gold Monkey, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Earth Final Conflict, Cowboy movies etc) that could be added to the soundtrack to spice things up a bit, especially during all those close ups during the V'Ger flyover and other lingering looks.

I would be very tempted to insert some of Lloyd Bridges' lines from Airplane for when Bones drifts onto the bridge, looks around, and then heads back to sickbay. "I sure picked the wrong day to give up glue sniffing," would fit perfectly in there. But I jest.

I think it would be nice if Rand had a line when McCoy beams on board, perhaps the close up when Kirk talks about the familiar ring to it although I'm struggling to think of one that would be appropriate...

I'm sure Scotty, Sulu, Uhura, Chapel, Chekov, and Rand must have had some other lines in TOS that could be fun, especially Scotty. If Rand's presence on the bridge could be established when Spock shows up, her line from the Man Trap, "Suppose he's going space happy or something?" after Kirk's line, "Welcome aboard," could be fun, possibly with a follow up retort from McCoy - but which one?

Chapel could get a line in after Ilia anaesthetises Chekov.
Must be somewhere we can get a Russian joke in.
    I'm a doctor, not a...

Maybe they could inflate the autopilot after Ilia gets zapped.

"Captain, we're being hailed by Starfleet Command."
    "Starfleet Command? What is it?"
"It's a big building where Admirals meet. But that's not important right now."

How about some of Shatner's lines from "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet."
I'm sure they could be shoehorned into TMP for wonderful dramatic effect:

Or... Ilia inflates the autopilot before she gets zapped. Yes, I did see Airplane.

I wouldn’t mind seeing deepfake used to replace Stephen Collins....

I dunno, I suppose you could try Chris Pine but I'm more philosophical. He's a main character and where do you draw that line? Do you replace Shatner because his insecurity led him to treat other cast members poorly? Do you refuse to watch TOS because a senior executive sexually assaulted Grace Lee Whitney? Do you re-edit Chekov's accent because Russia clearly isn't going to last until the 23Rd century?

I suppose I can see how an experiment to homogenise Saavik 1, Saavik 2, and Valeris could be fun.

You could squeeze that in after she says vessel is floating free.

I wonder what gems await us from Majel's dialogue in Earth Final Conflict or Lwaxana Troi?

"I flew single deflector shuttlecraft in the Klingon war, but this ship has TWO NACELLES! It's an entirely different kind of piloting, altogether."

Kirk and Spock: "It's an entirely different kind of piloting."

I stumbled across the scene in TMP where McCoy beams aboard on YouTube and the flippant tone and inane grins are quite annoying considering the awful tragedy that has just taken place.

I wondered if this is a scene that could genuinely benefit from deepfake if you could make Kirk and Rand look more serious. If Kirk delivers his 'familiar' line with a straight face, it adds both a double meaning to his comment and evidence of his well established gallows humour .

I did find a line spoken by Grace in World Enough and Time "Don't look so nervous," that would actually fit before Kirk's line and still make sense as both an indication of the previous disaster and an acknowledgement of the upcoming reunion.

Do you think it could work or is nobody bothered by the scene?

Someone ought to omit Goldsmith's score from the corridor scene with Ilia and Decker and place in that romantic cue by Bernstien's "Airplane!" score.

    ILIA: Was it difficult?
DECKER: No more than I expected. ...Not as difficult as seeing you. I'm sorry.
ILIA: That you left Delta Four? Or that you didn't even say 'goodbye'?
DECKER: If I had seen you again, ...would you have been able to say it?
    ILIA: No. (walks away)
DECKER: (Looks at the audience) What a pisser.

I've long wanted to rescore the scene where Kirk first sees the refit Enterprise with porn music. ;)

The music, not the actual soundtrack from a porn movie.

Good. What happens in the officers mess stays in the officers mess.
