Titles for the first two stories possible spoilers!

Whofan

Fleet Captain
The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon, according to those who have seen screenings.

A few thoughts:

1)Looks like I was partially right about WHO sort of being coincidentally(?) related to this Summer's big films-we have some kind of moon thing (ala the new Transformers) which even has the same acronym, and then Pirates. Not that this is necesarilly a bad thing-Tom Baker's earlier seasons were practically all "Whoish" takes on horror and sci-fi films.

2) Doctor Who is however no stranger to the moon as a setting. I think Troughton's The Moonbase was the first, and he returned to the moon in Seeds of Death, Frontier In Space and of course the more recent Smith and Jones. Not to forget a bunch of novels.

3) Plus there's Apollo 23, a Eleventh Doctor novel. I wonder if there's a connection or adaptation in mind?

4) I wonder what the connection is to the Silence arc....

I'd hate to think what Moffat's intial title was given his son got him to change it cos it was too cheesy!

Remember the Doctor took Martha to see the Moon landing as well...several times!

DWM's Twitter feed confirmed this today.

They filmed in Utah, as I recall. I'm starting to wonder if this two-parter might be somehow connected to Henry Van Statten's organization (either before or after "Dalek"). Considering everything Van Statten had, it wouldn't be impossible that he would have access to spaceflight.

The rest of the new titles, courtesy of the TV Tropes Doctor Who recap page...

- The Rebel Flesh
- Gangers
- Demons Run
- What Are Little Boys Made Of?
