Only omission I notice is the Klingon weaponry replaced by more Trek iconography like the IDIC and the TOS captain's chair. Assuming more seasons will come about, I like that there will always be a new variation of the title sequence each season. Still wish the Mirror episodes from S1 simply inverted the titles, as demonstrated on many YouTube fan vids.

glad to see the klingon iconography out but i wish they'd dump the sepia toned look. this title sequence has always felt so removed the show's aesthetics.

Seems like every season they'll tweak the intro a bit to highlight that particular season's themes.

I like the inverted intro.

and the TOS captain's chair
It's not the TOS (or the Cage) chair, there are a few differences, noticeably the control panels are angled inwards toward the chair, and the Dias is shaped differently

This appears to be the DSC version of the famous chair.

There also appears to be some sort of cured support bar behind it?

Looks like they kept the wood armrests though.

Similar enough. I'm not that nitpicky.

Still not a fan of the music. Sounds incredibly bland.
Get the Orville guy to make one.

Orville music is appropriate for the Orville. I think it's mismatched over the Disco opening, though. Orville theme sounds too much like Galaxy Quest.

Based on what little we can see, I approve of the updated captain’s chair. It joins the phaser, tricorder and communicator as TOS designs done justice. Hope the whole Enterprise bridge receives the same respect.

While Discovery’s sounds like something you hear in a elevator :)
That's some pretty sweet elevator music.

But I get it, music scoring sensibilities have changed a lot in the years. Where old music in general was much more melodic, today's in film/tv is much more rhythmic. I think both styles are perfectly valid. I look to two extremes done well, John Williams' Superman theme and Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel theme. Both are very different approaches but achieve that same grandiose feel that's uplifting (even if the latter's films don't reflect it greatly).
