Timescape made me giggle...

Lucy of Nine

Commander
Red Shirt
I couldnt help but notice all the extras swaying back and forth...

It made me smile... Expecially the romulan guy on the bridge who is up the back... he sways so much it's so distracting! Lol! :rommie:

Men have been known to get up and ditch females who giggle during Star Trek, so be careful. LOL.:rommie:

^^^ LOL I saw some of the swaying but it doesn't bother me too much.

Maybe what they should have done is have photographs made of the background scenes where everyone is supposed to be static and have the moving actors play it out like in a matte painting.

I don't think I've ever noticed the swaying. I did notice that Frakes moves. When they find Riker on his back, he's in one position but when they go back to him, he's moved a couple of feet to the left.

lol. I'll have to watch for this the next time.

I always thought the Brent Spiner mannequin in Fistful of Datas was a hoot.

Actually I know a lot of people who consider Timescape to be an excellent episode. I don't rate it as high as others do, but I only noticed the swaying on a couple of the stuck people. Never thought it poorly done, but that is just me.

Trek's always had elements where you just have to accept the premise and suspend your disbelief. Even if the extras had been perfectly still or photographs or whatever, we would still be aware that time had not actually stopped (), so what difference would there be?

Doesn't take away from the quality of the ep at all imo

I agree. I loved the Picard scene where he breaks down in the Engineering Room. I also love the Romulan angle where you think they were attacked at first, but really they were trying to help the Enterprise.

Yeah, I think of this as one of the best Trek mystery episodes. I love the early scenes on the runabout when Picard and the others first encounter the distortions.

The first scenes of exploration within the frozen Enterprise and Romulan vessel are quite creepy as well.
