Timeline Question: Starfleet Academy Academic Year?

People importing TNG era terminology into the TOS era has become a major pet peeve of mine.
Mine, too. I'm currently hung up on "Shuttlebay". The "Hangar", was only called two things during TOS: most commonly it was the "Hangar Deck", and only once did Kirk refer to the "Flight Deck":
KIRK: This is the observation deck. That's the flight deck down there with the shuttle craft.
Perhaps the Flight Deck was just the landing/takeoff zone (includes rotating pad where the shuttle craft was parked) on the larger Hangar Deck. I'm just a little perplexed what to call the shuttle storage area under the Hangar Deck; perhaps the "Shuttle Storage Deck" (never seen/referred on TOS, but definitely seen in TMP).

The term "shuttlebay" was first used in the 1973 episode "The Survivor":
Fake Carter Winston: I've been down to examine my ship. They stowed it in the shuttlebay.

Canonically, the term was used several times in Enterprise, Discovery, and Star Trek Into Darkness. Presumably, I guess, "Winston" was using a deprecated term that was no longer in fashion, but would be in the future.

Similar to away team/mission, used in Enterprise, Discovery, and all three bad Robot films, so a term that should be familiar to Kirk and crew, but curiously goes unmentioned in all TOS series and movies.

Obviously, Carter Winston was five years out of date in current Starfleet terminology. Even his clothes style was out of fashion. :o

So, just to update people, I decided to just go with Starfleet Academy having a academic year spanning from mid-August to late May, the same as the U.S. Naval Academy. Since Starfleet Academy is apparently located on the same grounds as the Presidio in San Francisco, this seemed the simplest solution and ultimately made the most sense to me.

I realize that this might not jibe with the time of year implied in TNG and DS9 episodes featuring Wesley and Nog going off to Starfleet Academy. but as my ST timeline is largely a TOS era timeline and only covers the broad strokes of the 24th Century era shows, that's not a big problem for me.

If anyone has any more thoughts or info to share on what's been canonically established about SA's academic year, though, I'd be happy to hear them!
