Timeline question: Post-Nemesis novels

Art Vandelay

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've been wondering about the chronological order of the post-Nemesis novels.

There are the four Titan novels, and there is Articles of the Federation that starts more or less right after Taking Wing. (I'm aware of the fact that the question of when to read AotF is a perennial favorite.)

What I don't know - and the historian's notes aren't much help either - is where Death in Winter, Resistance, Q&A and Before Dishonor belong.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Death in Winter occurs between the climax and epilogue of Nemesis, roughly between the epilogue of A Time for War, A Time for Peace and chapter 2 of Taking Wing.

As for Resistance, Q&A, and Before Dishonor, their exact placement is unclear, but I'd say they take place in the three-month gap between Orion's Hounds and Sword of Damocles.

Death in Winter is roughly simultaneous with Taking Wing.

Resistance is sometime after Orion's Hounds. It might even be after Sword of Damocles.

It's been a while since I've read Taking Wing, but I'm pretty sure that's not the case.
Admiral Baerg is killed at the end of Death in Winter, and Taking Wing opens with Donatra and Suran now leading his faction and looking for payback against Tal'Aura for his death.
So, Taking Wing follows from Death in Winter, and probably by a few weeks to give Tuvok time to languish in prison.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

According to my chronology, Death in Winter comes between Chapters 1 & 2 of Taking Wing. Which could perhaps be described as "roughly simultaneous," but that would be a bit misleading.

I don't think so, because I'm pretty sure
that Titan was just entering the Gum Nebula during Q&A.

Death in Winter has an 'official' place.
I put Resistance, Q&A and Before Dishonor before Articles of the Federation, until the official timeliners sing. Here

For what it's worth, this is where the 2379 stories in The Sky's the Limit probably slide in:

-- "'Til Death" -- between A Time to Hate and A Time to Kill
-- "Trust Yourself When All Men Doubt You" -- between sections 1 and 2 of the A Time for War, A Time for Peace epilogue (Vale is transferring to Titan, but the Enterprise had only just returned to Earth)
-- "On the Spot" -- between section 6 of the aTfW,aTfP epilogue and Death in Winter (repairs are well underway, but Beverly has not yet decided to return to the Enterprise)
