Timeless

Every time I see the thread entitled "Timeless" my heart jumps a little (I will die soon) because Timeless is my favorite VOY ep and I think someone has started a Timeless thread until I remember that it's a copy and paste from Chakoteya thread and I'm not allowed to blather on in it.

If you haven't seen this it's lovely and captures the atmospheric Timeless timelessness..

It's only one minute long, y'all should watch it!

I am always amazed fictional people are so ready to change the timeline so violently that their whole life will be different. I wonder if Harry would still want to change stuff if he got told he died on the next away mission in the timeline he was trying to get back to.

I suppose he would conceitedly think he could avoid dying now that he knew about it.

Once you change the destiny of millions of people, people who will no longer exist or come to exist only because of your monkeying about you would be pretty fat headed and avoiding death would be pfft, like tying your shoes.

I bet he will meet people in another 20+ years who only exist because he "fixed" the timeline in favor of their conception. Some other kind of person than Harry, that might drive them crazy.

Depending on how you look at it, he still has to die in at least Fury and Relativity.

And Endgame if you admit that Captain Kim committed suicide, while murdering his crew and the entire universe to send Janeway back, when he demolished his own timeline.

If I went back in time and prevented the Titanic from sailing/crashing there would be gazillions of people I had through the power of my actions helped create, the descendants of the previously doomed cruisers. I could gather them all up in a big "our ancestors almost died on some ship years ago" convention and see how many would give me money once they realized their very existence was a result of my meddling.

AND WE WOULD NEVER SEE KATE WINSLETT NUDE!

Oh wait, we saw her even more nude in Holy Smoke, walking totally nude across the outback. But maybe being in that painting scene in Titanic kind of warmed her up to the idea of being more nude and if she hadn't been in Titanic she would not have done that scene in Holy Smoke.

Yet another thread derailed by...

"MY EYES MY EYS OHMYGAWD WINSLET IS NUDE AGAIN!!!!"

... and it only took 4 posts. ;)

Teacake, OF COURSE Harry would have changed the time-line even if he knew he would die on the next mission. It wasn't his dying he minded, it was everyone else's.

More telling, would be, "what if he was told that he would save his crew but they all would die in the next battle?"

Or that he would save his crew and when the Delany sisters got back to Earth they would massacre the entire 1st year class at Starfleet Academy when they went to an award ceremony?

He is drunk with his power, he will just assume any bad stuff that he hears will happen will be preventable because he is succeeding in preventing the bad stuff he first wanted to prevent.

I adore nude Kate Winslet. She is stunning in Holy Smoke.

Never seen it.

Pretty sure that a nude Winslet is not my kind of draw. :rommie:

Hey, after that nude Vee scene, do you wonder if Mulgrew is in fear of one in her near future?

No one will make KM do that if she doesn't want to do that. And I'm pretty sure that as she has never done that she won't be doing that now :D

But if she did I would manipulate the timeline so I could hurry up and see it and not have to wait a year.

I was really disappointed with what I did see of Mulgrew, the first season and maybe some of another season. I probably said it dozens of times while watching it, "WHY don't they use Kate's fantastic comic acting, her larger than lifeness, where is Jeannie Flannagan, someone needs to realize what a gem KM is.."

AND THEY DID!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to say I wrote a thousand letters and impacted stuff and made people give Kate the wonderful role she has now but of course I didn't. It was God.

Well, if you're manipulating the timeline, you can just arrange to have yourself on set the day the KM nude scene is filmed. Then you'd wind up seeing her nude for longer than you ever would in an aired episode. All those retakes, as she tries to find a comfortable and enticing pose. Then she does the patented KM eye movements.

They usually lock down the sets for nude scenes. I would have to manipulate myself back in time to get a job that allowed me to be on the locked down set and I am way too lazy for that.

I know. I need a personal cloaking device.

It's one of the few episodes where he's definitely getting laid.

My only real problem with the episode is Harry's "I killed them!" moment, but Garrett does well as Old Harry.

Old Harry. Sounds like some sort of whiskey.
