Time travel episodes?

The time travel episodes are by far my favorite ones, which is probably why ST:IV is to this day my favorite Trek movie from the big screen though very little is based in the 23rd century.

And Yesterday's Enterprise is one of my favorites in TNG, but I have to say DS9 has my two fave time travel episodes of ALL TIME with "Little Green Men" and "Trials and Tribulations". Both of those are utter classics in my book, especially since I'm a Roswell nerd :)

Interesting that no one has mentioned Time Squared. It tackles time travel differently than We'll Always Have Paris, and to my mind it's one of the highlights of Season 2, if not one of the better Trek time travel tales.

It is in the Memory Alpha list, but yes, we haven't discussed it. I was amazed by it when it first aired, and raved about it to friends.

First, it had this unrelenting mood of dread with Picard brooding intensely. And, the ending was rather ambiguous, which was a nice change from most TV shows.

I enjoyed it too, the producers of the show didn't seem to like it, neither did a lot of critics att he time, but I feel the same way you do...and I just watched the episode a few weeks ago, still affects me the same way.

ReadyAndWilling,
No problem. :techman:

How is Contagion a time travel episode? They use the Iconian gateway to travel to different places, but I don't recall it being used to travel to different times.

Doug

To clerify, I did say "has something to do with time". I also put the '?' next to Contagion because its been a while since I have seen it and am unclear on the capabilities of the Gateway. Its the images of destinations that have left me uncertain, especially (IIRC) the one of pyramids. I was never sure if all of the destinations where real time, or if some where past/future. Then again, my mind might be taking liberties and giving the Gateway some of the abilities of the Guardian of Forever.

Yeah, here's another episode that I need to rewatch. Some of the scenes in the Gateway show Iconian cities, but I can't remember if there was any dialogue specifying that they were in the past or not. If so, then yes, I'd go along with you that this is a time travel episode. If they discuss time travel, even if they don't experience it, I'd say it qualifies.

Doug

I haven't had time for a re-watch, but did read through the script. No one actually says anything one way or the other about the destinations on the other side of the Gateway. I'm pretty sure it's the image of the pyramid that made me think time travel back when it first aired. After giving it some more thought, I think my impression was motivated by not only The Guardian of Forever, but also the plot from All Our Yesterdays. Keep in mind, I grew up on TOS reruns in the early 70's. ;) Either way, I have always enjoyed Contagion.

ReadyAndWilling, happy to hear that you enjoyed Clues. :techman:
