Three things to remember before the Lost series finale

Joe Washington

Fleet Captain
Fleet Captain
  • Whether we like it or not, not all of our questions will be answered. The creators of the show warned us of this, time and time again.
  • In the end of the day, for better or for worse, it's all about the characters, their relationships, and their journeys over the course of the show. That is another thing the creators of the show have told us time and time again.
  • Whatever our reactions or responses may be to it, the ending of the show remains the ending of the show.

I feel like I'm in the same sort of place emotionally as I was during the last week BSG aired. Lost is the better show, for me, nut BSG's finale had a lot of amazing expectations on its head in the run-up.

Unless they do something really, really stupid, I have a feeling most fans will love it. Then there will be a very, very vocal section of the fanbase that will just hate it whatever they do.

Our Darlton, who art in showbusiness,
Hollywood be thy name,
Thy kingdom LOST.
Thy will be shown online, as it is on TV.
Give us this day our weekly answers,
And forgive us our frustrations, as we forgive thee for Nikki and Paulo.
And lead us not into spoilers, but deliver us from a mediocre final.
For thine is the Damon, the Carlton, and the Polar Bear, for ever.
Namaste.

(sorry, got carried away there...)

NO! NO! NO!

I'm starting the rewrite project now. :rommie:

...ah frak that, I'm kidding. After Sunday, it's sayonara to Lost. I'm more interested in what the writers and actors are doing next.

Stealing this.

I agree with all three points. Then again, I'm a blatant Lost apologist. They'd have to seriously shit the bed for me not to love it.

Hey, at least I'm honest :D

Well said. Hopefully most people will remember this after the finale airs.

Brilliance!

I will be saying this prayer before I watch the finale (next week :().

Awesome. Gonna pass this along to my sister, who is also a LOST fan (been fun talking to her about it recently)

Also, thinking about doing a special recasting of LOST (i need to see the final episode first), like I did in the AL earlier. But no-one will be Nikki or Paulo. Like Emh have to wait until I get to see the finale, so I'll disappear sometime tomorrow.

Indeed. Except that, I hope I enjoy Lost's finale more than I did BSG. The water-cooler conversation at work on Monday after BSG's finale went something like this: "I hated it! That was terrible! I can't believe that's how they chose to end things. I want my 5 years back!"

Granted, over time, and after subsequent viewings, I came to terms with BSG's ending and can appreciate it for what it was. But I was frakking pissed for a good couple of weeks!
