Thoughts on Data ?

Has anyone else noticed that between season 1 and 2, Datas makeup color changes slightly? I thought that was pretty weird that they didnt explain what happened to make his color slightly different.
Just wondering

I noticed too. Looked like it changed in the movies a bit as well. Just like they changed Worf's forehead ridges with no explanation.

He did look different between the early seasons, but no explanation has, to date, been given.

Or maybe I saw it and just don't remember. It's been a while since I saw a second season episode.

Yeah early on his makeup appeared to be a lot thinner and more transparent-- to the point where you could almost make out Spiner's skin tone underneath.

Then later on it suddenly got a lot thicker and whiter.

Data actually looked better in the series than he did in the movies. The movie makeup was far too golden, and you could tell it was caked on, particularly in Nemesis.

Spiner had an allergic reaction to the early make up. They switched bases and his skin was better able to tolerate it.

Just like with the contact lenses. It was harder and harder for him to get them in till finally the make up team said, let's forget about it. There's one episode where it was so bad he looks as though he was crying. Not worth the pain!

Why would there be an explanation for something that is not supposed to be noticed? They don't explain Worf's head changing, or his baldric switch, or the uniform change, or the ops/conn switch and new seats, or the ship looking different sometimes, or any number of other behind-the-scenes changes they made. You're just supposed to go with it.

Data is not going to look good in HD

He looks great in HD.
