Is it the Cinco de Mayo that is really of meaning for you or is there actually a Mexican representation here @ trekBBS ?

what else is there in the month of may? the April shows that brought the Mayflowers and such yes

then mayday being may forth in England

or mothers day here and in Canada on the tenth

jfk's bday on the 29th

or memorial day and spring day celebrations don't contact me that day I am at a private party sorta.

So what is your thought for this month or goals or what did you accomplish last month anyway anything important happen?

May means to me:

- My birthday.
- The end of the Football season.
- The last month in which I can tolerate the weather in London until October.

May to means Mother's Day, and a month in which I will have very little work.

It means the beginning of 7 months of ungodly, oppressive heat and swarms of mosquitoes.

I love May because of the sporting events:

-Kentucky Derby
-NHL/NBA Playoffs
-MLB Season in full Swing
-The Preakness
-Racing really takes off with the Coke 600 and the Indy 500

Non sports, May is great for Memorial Day and Mother's Day.

1st of may is International Workers' Day, which is a national holiday in Austria - always nice. Especially since I can't remember a single year when the weather wasn't fantastic on may 1st.

Six years ago today, I moved out of a tiny basement with no kitchen (after almost 6 years) and into a small, brand new (affordable housing) apartment very close to where I work. It was like walking into a new world. Even though I qualified for the apt, I was for most of the first year terrified that I wouldn't be able to live there since the rent was several times larger than the basement, and I had utilities on top of that. In the summer, I didn't even dare turn on a fan just to keep my electric bill down (ha! my monthly electric bils in 2003 were only about $25 ) How times change With only dial-up, I sought comfort here on this board advancing thru the lounges from Captain to Admiral over the next few years. May reminds me of that really wonderful time in my life when I climbed out of the darkness and up the ladder to success.

Do you mean April showers? They don't bring out the may since it doesn't bloom until May.

The Mayflower was a ship I dimly recall, so now I'm really confused.
