I watched 13 episodes of Mr. Sunshine Yesterday (Only 9 aired on TV. Look! A reason to buy the DVD.) so I did really needed a show today with some real grunt to get my heart pumping again after that sad fart.
Made by/for Cinemax, there is less frontal nudity and simulated sex in it than you would think, maybe 3 or 4 minutes per episode, but the rest is a tragedy about two attractive barflies in their early 20's who try to find a new meaningless casual sexual encounter each week but somehow everything always goes horribly wrong... Imagine if Sex and the City wasn't mostly about a prude who wanted her virginity back.
There are rules to getting away with casual sex, that were given to the two heroines of our story which they must follow, and each episode explores a different rule, and explains why that rule is logical and necessary, and sometimes the pain of ignoring that rule.
I'm halfway through season one, it's getting funnier, and the TV is half way through season 2.
Opinions?
