This should make you all feel old

^Lot of people would say the same thing about all of TrekBBS

Actually, NOW would be the time to reshoot all the future scenes from All Good Things, and insert those into the remastered version. Data's stuff would be the original footage, and merged with the new footage.

As kewl as that sounds, it's not going to happen, and not just because the remastering is only meant to update visual effects, not live-action. They'd have to rebuild every set that the future crew were filmed in, just for this one episode. They'd have to pay the actors whatever ridiculous amounts of money they'd ask for to do this. And how exactly would you merge the original Data from AGT with footage of the older actors anyway? They're practically in all the same scenes together. Splice out fake-old Picard, Geordi, Riker, Worf and Beverly, and subsitute their real-old versions in every single frame?

It serves as good evidence as to why a new TNG movie isn't going to happen.

Just saying.

Guys, TNG aired for the first time 23 years ago, it will be 24 in September. It's been a generation. Feel old, yet?

I'm gonna go watch TNG now, just as I did 24 years ago.

You damn kids get off my lawn, and turn that noise you call "music" down!

Ya should check out his role on Night Court, then. About as far from Data or a doctor as ya can get!

^I can't think of the name, but I think he was in a movie that was set in the 1950s or 1940s with Spiner sporting a 'stache and playing a character who was racist. But again, I cannot say whether he was a doctor at all.

That is a great picture! They look great. I don't feel old. Its hard to believe it's been 24 years. That picture just makes me feel good, I don't know why.

Are you thinking of "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge"? If so, you have one major character point wrong. He played Dandridge's manager, and was definitely not portrayed as "racist."

They look wonderful! I can't help it, I love those guys!

Indeed they do. When I looked up Spiner, I realized he's nearly 10 years older than me. I used to think he was around my age. Considering he's 62, I think he looks pretty good. As he himself said about 10 years ago, though, he's too old to play Data again.

No, Brent Spiner was pretty young then, and I just watched a trailer. Definitely not "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge".

It's hard to think of my heroes being in their 60s. I'm watching TNG on Netflix and they just look so young and full of life, and while they look great now and still have long lives ahead of them, I guess it's just that mental connection in my head that forever makes them in their 30s/40s, and me in my teens.

Brent Spiner is 62? Well, that's good to hear. For a while there I thought he was actually old. He's young enough to easily play Data for another 10 years.

^He thinks he haven't been young enough for over 15 years. He's no Chuck Norris. Colm Meaney on other hand....

Spiner could play Data forever if he wanted to. He's just teasing us.

The guys look great! And I say we need to get "the band back together!"

I'll never get why Spiner doesn't think he can't play Data because he's older. Sure, he can't play ageless child-like Data...well, not without it being sad, but Data EVOLVES just like everybody else. He was mature enough in "All Good Things..." They just didn't continue with..."normal" Data when they made the movies. All of a sudden, he had to be season 3 Data forever.

I say season 3 instead of season 1 because Data had a mysterious quality about him early on and even emotion.

But yeah, the movies annoy me, and the actors look great in that pic. And I'm so glad they're all friends. The kid in me still remembers the pangs of disappointment learning about all the behind-the-scenes crap with TOS cast.
