This morning I shot an elephant in my pyjamas

K'Ehleyr

~ how the devil it got there I will never know. *slaps thigh and chortles*

OK from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which is on this afternoon causing me to think it is Christmas  "Toot sweets" anyone? ~ I hate the fact that I love it :(

So what other famous lines from films do you remember?

Oh and I have to mention this one in honour of the late, great Mr Swayze ~ "Nobody puts Baby in a corner".

BARF!

"Back off, Warchild. Seriously."

That's in honour of Swayze. :p

"Well, when you grow up... then you'll know these things, Danny. Now get up here and piss in the radiator." ;)

Unfortunately I can't think of any Groucho Marx quotes. Partly because I don't know any, but mostly because I'm too busy thinking of K'Ehleyr...and pajamas...

Funnily enough, I was just watching this scene from another recent film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_cBPc6VSaI

I often had a problem with shooting an elephant in my pyjamas in the mornings. Doctor says that during those moments I should think unsexy thoughts of John Prescott, and the uncomfortable sensation in my pyjamas should subside.

Groucho Marx threads are always 100% win.

The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you've got it made.

Two and two is four and five will get you ten if you know how to work it.

:lol:Thanks MLB, Zee and td ~ you know how to cheer me up on a very rainy Saturday

"Why, I'd horse-whip you if I had a horse!" - Groucho Marx

See this is why I don't get the Marx bros ~ who needs to have a horse to own a whip?

Ahh ~ didn't know that. Thanks --Ted :)

The line about "shooting an elephant in my pajamas" was originally Groucho's. It was later used in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and a number of other films and TV shows.

It's sort of the classic stereotype Groucho line.

Indeed, first used (on film) in Animal Crackers from 1930!

Funny, I've met a lot of pin-up girls, but I've never been able to pin one down.

Oooo one that I do love ~
"The man is the head of the family but the woman is the neck and she can turn the head anyway she wants" ;)
