I just spent seven months moderating forums about a movie that's only going to last two hours. Proportionate? Not exactly. I would've been content to take off after it migrated out of FOT but I wanted to see what it would be like to moderate the ST XI forum proper, now I know. Simple as that. Even though, intellectually, I know how to moderate the forum, I don't have the time or stamina. I need to have all three, not just one, and I'm really not enjoying it. I have to be honest with myself.

Best of luck to Kira's Mom, whoever my replacement is going to be, and anyone else who might moderate the forum in the future. Hopefully the groundwork I've laid will prove to be a useful foundation over the next year-and-a-quarter and serve as a sounding board for whatever you want to change or keep the same.

My first post on TrekBBS (in 1999) was a response to a thread asking about whether or not they should re-invent the Star Trek wheel. Now it seems like they're having their cake and eating it too. Next year I'll find out for sure.

In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy the beginning of my twilight years here.

Thanks. Aside from Fan Productions maybe I might get another shot becoming an admin sometime in the future, that was an interesting experience where you go in, do your four months, back up other mods as needed, and get out, but other than that, yeah I'm finished with normal moderating.

The funny thing is, I just happened to look at a condominium a few days ago.

It looks nice but it's cheap. I don't know how long I'd live there, but as far as they're concerned I'm living there for 30 years.

No firm decisions yet, but I'm leaning heavily towards it. I want to do a little more research on how the real estate market is. The best part about a condo is, unlike an apartment, I'm not throwing my money away.
