This Is England '88 the new three-parter starts on Channel 4 this coming Tuesday for 3 consecutive nights. Glad to see it back, I thought '86 was one of the best dramas of last year. Which, if you missed or if you just want to watch it again, is till on 4OD.

Renowned filmmaker Shane Meadows follows up the award-winning This Is England '86 with three new one-hour films.
In this first film it's December 23 and life isn't looking so festive for some. Lol is struggling to cope with new responsibilities and past haunts.
Smell and Shaun are still together, just about. Shaun's gone all lothario attending drama college, preparing for the Christmas play with new girl in town, Fay.
Woody has a new girlfriend, the lovely Jennifer. Lovely, but no Lol - the polar opposite to Lol.
Milky returns from some time away, but what reception will he get?

I thought it was a good start, I really do like this show. A lot's changed over the 2 years between this and the last series. I wonder if there's time to actually find out what's happened in the next 2 episodes.

I don't have Channel 4. There was a trailer to this posted awhile ago and it looked interesting, but I obviously can't comment further.

Hasn't quite finished yet but, bloody hell, fantastic TV but it's like repeated punches to the gut. Really great TV.
