I am not sure just how many light years high the galaxy is, we all know that Voyager is/was 75,000 LY from the Sol sector. However, I have never been able to find out how far Voyager is from climbing above the galactic plane, and avoiding all the hazards that come with flying through all the nebulas, voids, Nekrit expanses...ect.
Could they in theory, stay between 3-5 LY above the "fray" and decend back into galatic space when they need food, energy, medical or special needed supplies.
I have read about the Galactic Barrier that surrounds our galaxy and that it has unpredictable nurogenic properties, is there any way that this would be logical course of action and/or route back to the AQ...
