Things you see in real life that make you think of Trek

John's an interesting mix, that' for sure. He's devoutly Catholic ... deeply steeped in it, moreso than myself, even. We actually got into a brief fist-fight once, because he thought I was treating my girlfriend whom he was very friendly with rather cavalierly (in HIS view.) I, on the other hand, reminded him that she was not his sister and that he was my bud and should be backing me up, instead of siding with her. I'd gotten bored with her and became dismissive of the relationship, but she wouldn't move on. Anyway, the "fight" was over before it started and we were thick as thieves, again. But I thought that he had some balls even trying to say something like that to me.

Okay, now I get a picture in my head of Data doing the same..."Whee!"

But seriously, your friend seems to be a complicated combination of honorable and questionable. As most people are. (myself included, I suspect)

So did you ever broach the subject of his lookalike status with him?

I wouldn't dream of it ...

John's convinced he looks just like David Beckham. If I told him whom he actually duplicates, almost exactingly, he'd be all like, "... WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM???" So ... yeah, let me tell you, though, if John crashed some big family function the Spiner's had, undoubtedly, they'd say to eachother, "who's he? I don't remember him." But the family resemblance would be such that they'd let him infiltrate, on that assumption. Anyway ... here's a little something in tribute to my good friend John - Renaissance Man:

Also the political climate of said episodes.

People talking to Siri looks like someone talking into a communicator. So tempted to get them to answer to the word 'Computer'.

It'd be cool to get a few people to dress up like Star Trek characters and then just interact with people as if they had stumbled upon a planet similar to 21st century Earth.
The Siri thing reminds me of people talking to the Enterprise computer. That was quite futuristic back in the '60s.
