They are replacing the roof on my building

I live on the top floor of my apartment complex, and they decided this week that they were going to completely replace the roof.

So here I am, sitting in my apartment, and it sounds like a fucking avalanche is crashing down on top of me. It's so loud that my cat is terrified and hiding under the couch.

I can sympathize. We had our roof replaced in April. Our poor cats were traumatized before the first work day was over.

I had my roof replaced a couple of months ago (part of the process of repairing the storm damage my house suffered last year). They did good work, but they messed up my gutter helmets. Had to have those things replaced. Fortunately it was all the roofers' fault and didn't cost me a dime to do that.

Holy shit, is 7am on a Saturday morning really the best time to being doing this?! They are directly above my bedroom. I only went to bed 2 hours ago. This is fucking nonsense.

Oh, that sucks. I've gotten so used to the quiet of where I live. In the city there was always a monstrous racket that sounded like it was coming from inside the room instead of down the street. And on the days that there wasn't construction, there were creepy window washers looking in.

Also, 7am on a Saturday isn't unreasonable. It's unfortunate, but probably moreso for the workers than for you. Lots of people work on Saturdays!

Oddly enough, the last time I had my roof inspected the cat went crazy chasing the footsteps on the roof all over the top floor. I think he though he was going to have a chance to kill the biggest mouse ever.

Right now I'm debating on the best method of torture for my neighbor who is just outside my window with a freaking leaf blower, blowing the same 3 or 4 feet of grass since 6AM.

Um, no, because that has never been an issue. And I don't plan on living here that much longer. They're not replacing the roof to fix it. They're replacing it to "update the look." They're doing it to every building in the complex.

And yes, they started again at 7am today. Who does construction on Sundays?
