Theroy on Nero's motivation

PluckyNinja

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Perhaps the exploded planet is Romulus and all Nero does in the film is to try to restore it? Perhaps the federation did something that inadvertently caused the total annihilation of this poor guys home planet and he, at last in his own mind is just trying to set things right?

I got the idea from the way he delivers the line "Fire everything", yeah, I'm part Betaziod.

But if that were the case, couldn't he just explain everything and they'd work together to fix things and they'd all be a happy bunch?
Unless the Federation was determined to wipe out Romulus...for the greater good (hyperspace bypass maybe).

Perhaps he's just having a bad day, perhaps he's just got home from work and found someone in bed with his Mrs, perhaps he's just found out that he had investments in sub prime.

Perhaps we should just wait until May.

Yeah but, no but, yeah but, no but, yeah but................

Long flight, layover on Vulcan... extremely pissed he couldn't get a cheeseburger while he waited.

Sounds a little like Star Trek: Falling Down, methinks.

"What do you mean it's still breakfast hours? The wait is over!"

Bana would have to be one hell of an actor to cram all that background motivation into those two words. :D

He forgot Vulcs are vegan! It was a tofuburger. No wonder he's pissed.
