Regardless of the actual quality of VOY writing (or lack thereof), it's great to see them having that much fun talking about it!

My head canon is that in the few weeks between the Vidiians encounter and Voyager returning to New Earth, Janeway and Chakotay did plenty of monkeying around. And it didn't involve the actual monkey.

Yeah, "Shattered" and all. But I think they agreed that what happened on New Earth stayed there. Like Vegas, but with monkeys.

Chakotay walks through the corridor, passing through another time barrier. In the distance he sees Janeway giving oomox to Quark.
Quark: What are you doing here? This is a private vision, erm, I mean, time fragment!
Chakotay: I'm here to remind you of the consequences of disregarding my hunting territory. A broken backbone perhaps? You stay on DS9!
