There is a real person called Benjamin Sisko

Cool! I wonder if it's coincidence or if he's young enough to have been named after The Benjamin Sisko.

This reminds me of a thread here from seven months ago with a website where you can search the names of people across the country.

http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?p=11082118

The website indicates only one person in the U.S. named Benjamin Sisko. So I then tried Ben Sisko: also one.

So then I decided to check Jean-Luc Picard: the site claims there is "1 or fewer" named Jeanluc (they removed the dash). Make it so.

Then William Riker: 51 people.

And there is one poor bastards named Katheryn Janeway.

Yeah, but 1,033 lucky James Kirks out there.

I'd take that site with a grain of salt though. It says there is only one of me and I know for certain there are at least three.

It says there are only 837 Siskos in the whole country but Benjamin is a fairly common first name so it is not that statistically surprising there is one(or even two or three)

Yeah that site just makes broad estimates of name probabilities. Using a public records search (like Intelius) returns more exact figures. An Intelius search of Benjamin Sisko turns up five people. Two of which are the same person (the DC businessman Benjamin R. Sisko that we're discussing here), and the other three might be fake names entered in the public record at some point. Especially Benjamin L. Sisko, age 46 of the Bronx, NY.

There are 36 Jean-Luc Picards (including one who works for "UFP") and 92 William Rikers. Very common names like James Kirk only return 99 results, which I think is the limit on Intelius.
